Wizardry & Witchcraft

Image
When I first heard of Storybook Cosmetics I was instantly excited by all of the ideas that they had. I then waited, not so patiently, for them to launch their amazing products.  Being the bookworm that I am the thought of my favorite fairy tales being brought to life through makeup, who doesn't want that! Short Review:  Shut up and take my money Storybook Cosmetics! Long Review:  This first thing that I was able to purchase from Storybook Cosmetics was the Authentic Gun Metal Wizard Wands. Having been my first purchase I was a little nervous as to what to expect from this brand new company, but let me tell you, I was immediately impressed. The packaging is adorable, the wands came in a gorgeous blue velvet pouch with the Storybook Cosmetics logo printed in silver across it.  The wands are heavy, and the brushes are soft. Worth every penny. A few short weeks later the pre-order for the Wizardry & Witchcraft Eyeshadow Palette Book was announced and I refreshed my browse

Book Review: Shadow and Bone

Book: Shadow and Bone by Leigh Bardugo Genre: Young Adult, Fiction, Fantasy Print Date: June 2012 I am clearly behind the ball on reading this series as it was released in 2012, but I have definitely been missing out! Short Review:  This book has magic, war, love, and betrayal...what more could you want? Long Review:  A fantasy series that I didn't know I needed!  I instantly fell in love with the main character Alina. She is a character that you just know right away is going to hold your interest, and as I jumped from chapter to chapter I wasn't disappointed. Through this book you discover some secrets about her that she wasn't even aware that she was keeping. I almost loved Mal even more than Alina though. I wish I could say more about this amazing character but I don't want to give anything away! There are also a few certain characters that maintain a sense of mystery about them. This kept me hooked as I had to find out what was really going on. Between t

Willing Beauty

Image
Willing Beauty is a brand new skincare company that just launched in April and has already been featured in ALLURE magazine. It started out as Willa and the mother daughter duo that cofounded it joined forces with the mother daughter duo from Origami Owl to expand the company's offerings and form Willing Beauty. This is my review of the products that I have been using so far! Spoiler Alert :  I do personally sell this new product . Short Review : I love this stuff! Talk about amazing moisturizer and super soft skin! Long Review : A little bit of background. I have always had very sensitive skin and therefore have struggled to find a product that not only works for me but is cruelty free.  The reactions can vary from just slight redness to full on burning, itchy skin, rash, and breakouts. I have now been using the Willing Beauty HY+5 Regimen for 23 days and I LOVE it! My skin is usually very dry because I don't like to put a lot of products on it, but a

Book Review: All the Missing Girls

Book: All the Missing Girls by Megan Miranda Genre: Fiction, Thriller, Mystery, Suspense Print Date: June 2016 Short Review:   A mystery full of twists that you just won't want to put down! Long Review:   I found my eyes devouring the words faster than my brain could process the clues being left behind. I was trying to read as fast as I could to find out what happened to Corinne!  In the beginning I found myself getting frustrated with the way the book was written as it is written out of order. You start in the present, flash to the past, skip forward two weeks, and then go backwards from there. I'm not a huge fan of this particular style but it was a smart move on the author's part for this particular story. Once you have settled into the style you realize it wouldn't have been as impactful of a story if it was done any other way. Just when you think you have figured out how the girls have gone missing and what has happened to them the author throws you an

Book Review: Everything, Everything

Image
Book: Everything, Everything by Nicola Yoon Genre: Young Adult Fiction, Romance Print Date: September 2015 I had not heard of this book until I saw previews for the movie that will be coming out on May 19, 2017.  The moment the trailer started I knew I needed to read this book.   **I always say you should read the book before you see the movie it is based on because the book is ALWAYS better.** Luckily, my book club picked this one for April and I couldn't wait to start it.  All it took was a late spring snowstorm complete with over 12" of snow, a fresh from the dryer blanket, and a big steaming cup of coffee to keep me inside where I finished the book in an afternoon.   Check out my thoughts below! Short review:   Read it and you won't regret it! Long review:   This was a very quick and easy read, I wasn't even aware that I had been reading for so long until I was at the end. This book is a great romance complete with heartbreak and discovery. I was
